The team

Who you'll be skiing with.

10 racers in 2025-26, plus a provisional 8th grader. Small enough that every one of them gets coach attention on every run.

Coaching

Our coaches

Our coaches come through Willy Camp, a Mt. Hood race-training program. IBW trains as part of a combined group drawn from schools across the metro area, which is how a fourteen-athlete team gets full-time coaching and a deep field to train against.

We train in a combined group with racers from five metro-area schools, under coaches with more than sixty years on this mountain between them.

You do not need to have raced before. You need to want to.

Who to contact about what

Please bring questions to a parent lead rather than the coaches. Coaching time is short and we protect it.

How we run

Every family takes one job

The team has no paid staff and no school funding. It works because each family picks up one thing — driving, timing, waxing, snacks, photos, the sponsor letter. It is not a lot of hours, and it is the difference between a team existing and not.

Parents who travel with or supervise athletes need a district background check first. It takes about ten minutes and is linked on the Resources page.
